Revit 2016 - IFC Links and Rooms

A linked IFC file can provide room boundaries.

Can you transfer room name and number information from the linked IFC model to the rooms you are now able to place in the Revit model?

If not, the best workflow I can come up with is to:
Import (open IFC), save, link RVT file into project.
Copy monitor walls and floors to create bounding elements to place spaces (not copy window\door openings because it creates boundary issues), place spaces, and then run the space naming utility.
Is this the most efficient way? When the link is reloaded I have a lot of coordination monitor alerts.

I don't know but my guess is no. I write that because we've only just been given the ability for those IFC "walls" to be a boundary for rooms in our model. To transfer room data from the element in IFC to a native Room in Revit seems a little further down the road. It might be possible via the API though.
